New Year, New Skin, New You. Kiehls 99.6% Naturally Derived Cream

I am ending 2016 with this post sharing my latest skincare discovery on Kiehl's. Kiehl's have always had a special place in my heart as my skin tend to love most of the brand's products and I prefer skincare that do not contain too much perfume, no-frills, without unnecessary extras fanciful packaging and simple yet effective skincare. As i discover more of Kiehl's skincare products, I can't help up want to change my entire skincare routine to Kiehls
In January 2017, Kiehls will be launching the Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream, that is a 99.6% naturally-derived formula using ingredients such as New Zealand Manuka Honey and Korean Red Ginseng Root. The cream helps to nourish skin with hydration and helps skin repair and recover from existing skin damage.
Clinical test shows that skin's radiance and glow improved by 41.8% while skin's texture and smoothness improved by 39.7% . Below are some of the consumer perception results
Immediate - 89.9% agree that the product feels comforting on skin
At 1 week - 86.1% agree their skin feels moisturized, replenished and nourished
At 4 weeks - 87.3% agree their skin looks smoother and more refined - 84.8% agree the overall appearance of their skin looks improved
At 8 weeks -91.1% agree skin looks moisturized, replenished and nourished - 87.3% agree skin appears more radiant, glowing and vibrant
-NEW ZEALAND MANUKA HONEY
Manuka Honey is a dark, creamy mono-floral honey is valued in medicine for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties and ability to treat skin wounds, even post surgery. Compared to any other form of honey, it has the highest polyphenol level and anti-oxidant activity, which help to protect the skin from oxidative damage such as pollution and UV. It is also known to stimulate collagen producing fibroblasts and keratinocytes, helping repair damage and maintain skin barrier hydration due to its high sugar content and 4x more minerals than any other honey.
-KOREAN RED GINSENG ROOT
Highly prized in Eastern medicine, this ancient botanical helps to increase cell turnover rate, improve texture, vitality and glow. Continue usage would show significant improvement of aged, dull skin to recover its youthful radiance, an increase in skin hydration, barrier function and collagen production a decrease in extracellular matrix degradation, and an ability to prevent UV-induced roughness.
The unique thing about this cream is that Kiehl's has manage to formulate it with as much natural ingredients as possible. You may wonder why 99.6% and not 100%? As natural ingredients would require some form of preservatives to prevent bacterial and germs from contaminating the skincare.
“To build a cream structure, we typically formulate with emulsifiers, thickeners, emollients and powders,” explains Dr. Genesky “For Pure Vitality, we made the decision to use only natural, plant-derived versions of these ingredients. After 68 trials—the most in Kiehl’s history—we achieved the perfect balance of each ingredient in a formula that is also aesthecitally appealing, indulgent and elegant.”
What i feel about this cream: It has a very hydrating texture. First time users might find it a little thick however the key to using this cream right is to "massage" it in circular motions into the skin. When it is settled into the skin, you will find a smooth, velvety texture that is not as sticky. After a few weeks of use, i find my skin more radiant and resistance to breakouts. This is a great anti-aging cream and i really love how it is so honest (no fanciful, gimmicky marketing) about its ingredients.

The limited-edition labels will be a symbolic reminder of the love, inspiration and hope that abounds for the children facing cancer in Singapore. Kiehl’s will donate $2 of the net proceeds from the sale of each limited-edition product to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF)
