Before i begin sharing about my experience on Hada Labo, let me share a some knowledge on Hyaluronic Acid which is now frequently found in all hydrating skincare. In the past, Hyaluronic Acid (HA) was scientifically difficult to make and was extremely expensive thus it can hardly be found in most skincare. However, in recent years, scientist have discovered a way to make HA at a much easier, faster and cheaper way. HA is now classified into 4 different sizes: Nano, Super, Medium and Large.
In summary, to have a complete hydration from the top most layer to the deepest layer, all 4 types of HA would be ideal. Large size HA at the top, Medium and Super size HA at the middle skin layer and Nano HA at the deepest/basal layer. Multiple levels of hydration and protection will prevent moisture loss which leads to forming of fine lines, wrinkles and aging.
Moving on to Hada Labo, i was fortunate to be able to try on the 4 types of lotion that the brand is currently retailing
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion
4 Types: Hydrating Lotion (light), Hydrating, Whitening, Anti-aging with Retinol.
Hydrating (Light) Lotion: Contains 4 types of HA, suitable for oily skin with light texture and pH balanced.
Hydrating Lotion: Similar to the light version, this contains 4types of HA but with a richer texture for dehydrated skin
Whitening Lotion: With 3 types of HA, Arbutin and Vitamin C. This lotion helps to reduce dark spots and brightens overall skin complexion
Anti-aging + Lifting Lotion: With Retinol, Collagen in addition to the 4 types of HA, this is best for ladies with aging concerns. Said to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
In addition to the 4 lotion, Hada Labo launch their new hydrating essence which contains 3X the concentration of HA than their lotion and provides 24hrs hydration. I tried the essence and its so light it is suitable to use before makeup. Honestly, I was not expecting much from Hada Labo but after trying out their essence, sunscreen and BB cream I am truly loving how light their items are. Even their BB cream far exceed my expectations. The Hada Labo Air BB Cream has a velvety smooth finish with good coverage, sun protection, hydrating, oil control, evens out skin tone and minimizes appearance of pores. Here are the swatches of the two BB cream. Unfortunately, if you are super fair, the lighter shade might be too yellowish for you. I am using the Ivory Beige shade and it suits me pretty well.
